General FAQ's

Please reach us at lindsey@theokiehaven.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

I offer thoughtfully held, heart-centered doula support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum! However, for the remainder of 2026, I will only be taking postpartum doula clients and will be on maternity leave starting August 2026. The Okie Haven is growing and so are the list of services, so be on the lookout for new offerings of support!

I accept secure electronic payments including major credit and debit cards, HSA/FSA cards when eligible, ACH bank transfer, and checks.

All electronic payments are processed through my booking system, doulado.

I do not accept cash, insurance billing, Medicaid, or employer reimbursement programs at this time (including Carrot). However, I can provide detailed receipts upon request that clients may submit for potential insurance reimbursement if their plan allows it.

I serve families in Tulsa and surrounding areas. My home base is in Beggs/Mounds, OK, so most visits are typically within a 25–45 minute radius from there.

If you are outside of this area, support may still be possible depending on distance and scheduling, and may include an additional travel fee.

Postpartum Support FAQ's

Postpartum doulas are for any family navigating life during the season after birth.

We serve first-time moms, fourth-time moms, parents both on leave, solo parents, grieving families, & any family in the postpartum season.

Each postpartum shift is typically 4 hours and is centered around the needs of your family that day. No two visits look exactly the same, but the goal is always to provide support, education, and relief so you feel more confident and rested.

Morning shifts often focus on helping you start the day feeling grounded. This may look like grabbing your coffee on my way over, making you breakfast, watching baby while you shower, offering feeding assistance, answering overnight questions, and starting a load of laundry.

Afternoon shifts may focus on hands-on support. This may look like picking up groceries on my way over, starting a crockpot dinner for your family, allowing you to nap, and helping you reset the home environment so the rest of your day feels more manageable.

Evening shifts are often centered around "closing" the house to set up nighttime and the next day for success. This may be cleaning up after dinner, folding laundry, helping with the other kiddos in the house, tidying up, prepping bottles, helping you get set up for the night, and creating a peaceful environment so you can transition into rest more easily.

Every visit is tailored to what you need most in that moment!

There is no exact “right time.” Some families know during pregnancy that they want postpartum support, and others don’t realize they need this kind of care until baby is already home.

🌷 If you book during pregnancy and are unsure of your exact start date, we will create a tentative schedule that works for your family and note your expected timeframe for support. Once baby arrives, we’ll finalize and confirm your visit dates.

🌷 If you book postpartum, we will go ahead and schedule your support visits based on your current needs and availability.

Whether you are planning ahead during pregnancy or are several months postpartum, you deserve support. I’m here for you.

I currently offer scheduled postpartum doula support on select days, including weekdays and weekends, with availability depending on my current schedule.

Many families choose weekend support (Friday, Saturday, &/or Sunday) because this is often when life feels the most hectic. Partners are typically home, visitors may be coming and going, and it can feel more overwhelming to manage day-to-day tasks. Having a doula visit during these times can help create a sense of calm, offer hands-on support, and allow parents to reset, rest, or catch up with each other and family without added stress or noise.

Weekday visits are also available and can be especially helpful for establishing daytime rhythms, getting rest while support is in the home, and having consistent help during the week.

Scheduling often depends on factors like paternity or partner leave, since many families find it especially valuable when partners are home and able to rest, learn, or bond with baby while also receiving support. Even when partners are on leave, doulas can help lighten the mental and physical load so the entire household can adjust more smoothly.

Availability may vary, but I work with families to find the best fit within my current schedule.
